Auber pid silvia installation

I drilled a second hole and added a second fastener to help hold the SSR a bit more securely, and ensure the bottom surface and heat transfer silicone is as tight as possible for best possible heat transfer and component reliability. Wiring the controller was straighforward, again, the instructions were quite clear. Just one tip - I inverted the machine for performing the wiring and prep for adhesive tape installation.

This made it very easy to access the connections, and apply pressure to the PID when applying the adhesive tape. How does the new PID temperature controller work? Simply fantastic - it's great to have fine control over brew water temperature, and a much better understanding of what's happening with the critical brew variables.

Result - better tasting coffee although I still have a long way to go. I wish I had got this upgrade done years ago. Sources and Links I hope you found this post useful. Feel free to ask questions in the comments section below. I suppose one could cut some holes on Silvia's side panels to help with heat dissipation as well.

I have just installed a similar PID unit with the front cover plate on the outside which proved very useful as I messed up a bit with the Dremel. I measured the inside working temperature of Silvia at about 80 degC, which is 30 degrees higher than recommended by the sales person at Auber who said the higher temperature would "shorten the lifetime" of the controller.

I fired up Silvia and the brew temp went to but continued to rise. I did a shot test and everything came out great. I even steamed at Now the boiler won't heat up. Is there a setting I'm missing? Reply 7 years ago on Introduction. It is also possible, of course, that you simply have a bad PID unit. If the troubleshooting doesn't work, can you return your present unit for a replacement?

It was a user error. I installed the sensor upsidown. Luckily the grease must have protected it. The side was not damaged nor were the wires surprisingly. The directions don't talk about a particular side but the pictures describe it. Now I have everything working properly. My mazzer also has new blades. Brewed a perfect cup of espresso at and steamed at Life is good! I'm glad you were able to get it all figured out and put together correctly. Must be very satisfying.

Now you can really enjoy the fruits of your labors. Thanks for the quick reply. The boiler actually automatically shuts off when the steam is too high. I'm thinking I may have used too much grease. I checked all of the connections and the wires are all in tact. I might take the sensor off and then remove some excess grease. I was able to reset the thermostat by pushing that red button.

Other then that everything works fine. It just seems to be degrees off. We are in the process of updating the installation manual of V5 and V6.

The autotune offset will shift the SV value down by the the Atdu value during the auto tune process. Based on this, and based on what I was told and the way it was explained to me at the time, this value should reflect the offset and should be adjusted accordingly. So Jaroslav, I did some testing with default settings calculated with an offset of 5 degree and also with your tutorial.

I tried different temperature settings and it seems the result is the same. Thx again for your blogpost! Keep up the good work! Thanks for letting me know, anytime!
